Fire up the grill this summer and put another patty on the barbie! Hamburgers are so versatile and easy, and my family loves to make them all summer. We love to mix it up and experiment with different seasonings and flavors to ensure that each of our ‘burger nights’ offers up a new combination of deliciousness. Why settle on a plain old burger when you can dress them up with a variety of seasonings and sauces. Shiitake Green Tea Peppercorn Burgers are simple to make, yet taste like you ordered them from a fine diner.
Shiitake Green Tea Peppercorn Burgers
by Lisa Ek
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1-2 Tbsp. Green Tea Peppercorn Seasoning
- 3-4 hamburger buns
- Sliced Swiss cheese
- Shiitake Teriyaki Sauce, warmed if desired
Combine first 2 ingredients; shape into 3-4 patties. Grill or fry patties to desired doneness; serve on buns topped with Swiss cheese and Shiitake Teriyaki Sauce. Makes 3-4 servings.
Tips:
- Extra lean ground beef may be better for you, but a little fat in the meat will make the burger much more juicy and less likely to dry out.
- You can add the Swiss cheese a couple of minutes before the burgers are done. Be careful not to overcook or the cheese will just end up in the bottom of your grill.
