Sometimes I forget about Spinach & Herb Dip Mix. Sure, I always have a bottle around and I add a few shakes whenever I make something “herb-y.” And it’s great at that. But like any great supporting actor, it deserves the spotlight. Recently I made a beer bread bowl with Spinach & Herb Dip for a potluck. And while I knew I would come home with an empty bowl, I wasn’t prepared for the amount of conversation (and compliments) my little dip created.
Until people started eating it. Since I made the dip and cubed the bread at home, all I had to do was take it out of the cooler and remove the plastic wrap from the top. No digging for the proper serving utensil, heating it up, stirring or crumbling things on the top. So the people (men) hovering over the food were able to dig in right away. And the raves started! They kept getting more bread and dipping in, they offered a bite to their wives, they took a huge scoop on their plate and went back for seconds. Seriously, the bread and dip I whipped up the night before was the hit of the party. So I went home with an empty cooler and a big head. What a great day!

Bountiful Beer Bread Bowl with Spinach & Herb Dip
Tips:
- The bowl is key in making this look like a bread bowl. The round bottom of the stainless steel bowl creates a wonderful “dome” of bread. Be careful not to cut the bowl completely through the bottom or your dip will fall out!
- For a pretty presentation, serve the bread bowl on a bed of lettuce.
- Fill the bread bowl with prepared Artichoke & Spinach Warm Dip or Creamy Portobello Warm Dip: Wrap completely in foil and heat in the oven at 350 degrees until warmed through, about 15 minutes.
- If you don’t have a deep bowl, prepare the bread in a 9-inch round cake pan and hollow out the top.
- Serve veggies with the bowl and dip along with the cubed bread.
