Cooking with your own harvest is kinda cool. I feel kind of Little House on the Prairie when I say to my daughter “go pick six apples, a bunch of basil and some tomatoes…I’m fixing dinner!” But whether you grow your own or visit your local market – it’s a bountiful harvest this time of year. So enjoy wonderful rewards of fall – pick some apples … play outside … and enjoy the comforts of home cooking!

Coffee – sometimes it’s the only thing that gets me through the day. Well, that and sweets. So imagine my excitement when I found this dip – it’s literally my two life-savers in one dish!
Toasted Teriyaki Salmon Burgers

Toasted Teriyaki Salmon Burgers
While wandering the aisles last week wondering what the heck I was going to make for dinner, I stumbled upon a great deal on freshly made salmon burgers. My family isn’t a big fan of salmon, but it’s heart healthy and rich in Omega-3 fats and B vitamins. Even if you’re a land lubber like me…you can still get all the good stuff…just hide it under a delicious layer of Toasted Sesame Teriyaki Sauce!
Smoked Bacon Loaded Baked Potatoes

Smoked Bacon Loaded Baked Potatoes
I love meals that come together quickly. So loaded potatoes are a go-to. No fancy ingredients, no planning ahead, no huge pile of dishes after. Use a big enough potato and it’s a meal; use a smaller potato and it’s a perfect side dish!
Mama Mia Chicken Fingers
They say knowledge is power, but I have found that knowledge can also be very guilt-inducing. Take chicken nuggets for example … they are the only thing half the kids in America will eat without squawking, and now we find out they are made with unpleasant ingredients that barely qualify as food. We have a solution–Mama Mia Chicken Fingers!
Crantini
This is a drink that’s perfect in a chilled highball glass garnished with orange peel for entertaining – or perfect in a juice glass after the kids are FINALLY asleep.
Banana Chai Protein Shake
I love eating too much to swap out real food for a protein shake. Seriously…have you ever tried one of those things? Blech. Since the store-bought shakes are NOT for me…I have been tinkering with some homemade shake recipes…which can be AWESOME! So give yourself – and your kids! – a little protein boost to start their day – try a Banana Chai Protein Shake for breakfast!
Perfect Pepperoni Pizzas
There’s one food at my house that always gets thumbs up – PIZZA! you can use almost anything as topping, you can serve a simple side like carrots and ranch, and if there are leftovers you can eat them cold or nuke them in just a few seconds. So, give your family a treat tonight – make a Perfect Pepperoni Pizza.
